i was at Geylang Methodist Sec Sch (GMSS) with our Team Singapore AYG Bowlers for a sharing session with their sports leaders in conjunction with their 85th Anniversary. There were a million people and to my pleasant surprise, i saw some familiar orange tees running around :)

What was even better is that i realised our YTSAs from GMSS was in charge of organising/hosting the sharing session! Mandy was our very nervous host who had to speak in front of all her school mates and interviewed our bowlers haha...but she did a good job!

On 14 August 2009, there were a crowd of people at the Padang celebrating the 1 year countdown of Youth Olympic. Among the crowd , there were also Singapore athletes wearing in red shirt and pants , they were specially invited to grace the events as they were be taking parts in the Youth Olympic games for Singapore which is making the Singapore proud.

There were some sports booths put out and there were tryout which people were queuing for a long queue. There were several sports like the basketball and soccer which have our local celebrities playing in it, this caught a lot of people attraction.

The Guest of Honor for the event was Professor S Jayakumar, Senior Minister for National Security arrived there at around 7pm, warmly welcomed by the Temasek Polytechnic’s cheers. After the speech, there were several entertainments and performance put up.

At 8pm, the first YOG countdown clock was shown to us, this brought the spirit up, making everyone delighted. Followed by, the fireworks which brightened up the night sky.

After that, it come to an end with some music by our Singapore‘s DJ, and people were staying back to enjoy for the party.

The YTSA program is a new initiative spearheaded by Team Singapore and Singapore School Sports Council.

The roles of YTSAs include spreading the awareness of Team Singapore amongst our peers so as to achieve the larger goal of a Sporting Nation.
